Small Regency Rosewood Centre Table (England, circa 1820)
Small Regency Rosewood Centre Table (England, circa 1820)
An Exceptional Quality Regency Period Rosewood Hall Table, Or Centre Table, Of Rare Small Proportions, Having Superbly Figured, Thin, Tilting Top Raised On Turned Central Column With Lotus Leaf Carved Decoration And Quad Form Base With Original Scrolling Feet.
This centre table is of relatively typical design for the height of the Regency period, however it does have a few distinguishing features which lift it above and beyond many that you will find available for sale.
The first of these is of course the size. It is that bit smaller than the average, perfect for an entrance hall, or possibly even behind a settee. In combination with the lovely thin top and superbly figured rosewood veneers it stands very elegantly and will look fabulous wherever one chooses to locate it.
The overall quality of the table is excellent, highlighted by the choice of decorative veneers and attention to detail in various areas.
It also remains in very good condition, with very little historical damage to speak of and has received a natural wax polish in our workshops by our specialist antique furniture restorers before being offered for sale.
From a practical perspective it would be easy to transport and place into any room, in any house as the top can be separated from the base.
