Again, although very rare when dealing with antiques and works of art, some items may attract import duties, customs fees and local taxes payable by the receiver. We have no control over these fees and it is a matter between the purchaser and their local authorities.

Cites Regulation & Licences
Due to a change of the UK regulations in early 2017 concerning the export outside the EU of items containing any variant of the extended Rosewood family, a CITES licence will almost certainly be required to enable you to export the item from the UK legally. All of these items can be exported legally providing they were made prior to 1947. We are normally able to obtain this on your behalf as part of the quoted shipping prices, but occasionally there may be an extra charge for this. Please note that these licences can take up to 15 working days to be issued by DEFRA. Also please be aware that each individual country’s Customs may still hold an item for inspection, and reserve the right to refuse importation. These are extremely unlikely events, but we feel it important to make you aware that this is a possibility, no matter how remote.
