A Good Quality Regency Period, Early 19th Century, Mahogany Occasional Wine Table, Having Superbly Figured Rectangular Top And Frieze, Over Reverse Tapering Turned Column And Three Elegant Scrolling Tripod Legs With Original Turned Feet.

Dating from the early part of the 19th century, this extremely attractive little table is a good example of the elegant occasional furniture produced during the Regency period, combining useful proportions with a simple, but refined design.

Constructed from good quality mahogany throughout, the rectangular top retains particularly attractive figuring, as does the frieze below, whilst the rich colour and surface which has developed over the last 200 years or so adds considerably to its appeal.

The reverse tapering central column is an unusual and elegant feature, with various turned mouldings providing additional interest, before terminating in three well shaped scrolling tripod legs and original turned feet.

Tables of this size are incredibly useful around the home and this example could serve equally well as a wine or lamp table alongside an armchair or settee, or simply as an attractive occasional table wherever a small surface is required.

As with all items which we offer for sale, this table has been attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled and traditional antique furniture restorers, where it has received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale. It is therefore ready to place straight into the home.
