Regency Rosewood & Parcel Gilt Centre Table (England, circa 1830)
Regency Rosewood & Parcel Gilt Centre Table (England, circa 1830)
A Stunning Quality Regency Period Rosewood, Parcel Gilt And Brass Octagonal Centre Table, Having Superbly Figured Top With Brass Moulded Edge Raised Upon Four Parcel Gilded Reeded Columns With Foliate Carved Decoration, Terminating On Quadripartite Platform Base With Original Brass Turned Feet And Concealed Castors.
This fabulous quality centre table is really quite something. Quite clearly constructed in one of the top workshops of the period. every last detail is of exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
The brass moulded edge of the top is a most unusual feature and really adds elegance to the piece.
The rosewood veneers use for the top have been very carefully and deliberately selected to ensure that they are highly figured and the colour they have retained has resulted in an extremely decorative effect.
The top stands on some rather special gilded, turned upright supports which are really incredibly elegant at the same time as solving the age old issue of a central support often resulting in a relatively unstable surface. No such issue with this particular table.
The table is of good, prominent, size without being overpoweringly large which would allow it to be used in many different spots around the home. However we think it would make the most wonderful entry hall table, making a real impression on everybody from the very first moment they walk through the door of your home.
This table has been naturally wax polished and cleaned in our workshops in the traditional fashion by our team of skilled craftsman so rest assured it is ready for immediate placement and use.
