A Simply Stunning Queen Anne Period Burr Walnut Bureau, Of Exceptional Untouched Rich Colour And Patina, With Superbly Figured Veneers To Shallow Sloping Fall, Enclosing Well Fitted Interior Which Includes Drawers, Pigeon Holes And Well With Sliding Cover, Above Elegant Waist Moulding, Two Short And Two Long Drawers Having Replacement Brass Handles, Raised On Replacement Turned Bun Feet, With Attractive Herringbone Banded Decoration Throughout.

This is a simply beautiful example of a Queen Anne Walnut Bureau and it would be a real challenge to find one which is constructed from such highly figured veneers whilst retaining such an exceptional untouched, rich colour and patina. It has clearly been much loved and cherished throughout over 300 years of life and is certainly something which will continue to be cherished for many years to come.

The brass handles are replacements, but very much contemporary to the piece and sit well on it. It also has replacement turned bun feet, again they sit well and are of the exact style which would originally have been found on the piece.

A piece for connoisseurs and new collectors alike this really is a standout item of antique furniture and it’s worth bearing in mind what fantastic condition it remains in despite three centuries of heavy use. In fact it is very much as fit for purpose as the day which it was made.
