A delightful and rarely found matched pair of mid 19th century Papier Mache Tray On Stand Coffee Tables.
Having elegant shaped edges with hand painted and gilded decoration, housed on later bamboo design stands.
It is very rare to find a pair of these Papier Mache coffee tables and, although there are minor differences between these, the sizes are identical. It is clear that they were almost certainly produced in the same 19th Century workshop.
As with the majority of these antique Papier Mache trays they are now repurposed for modern life into coffee tables which makes them incredibly functional indeed.
They are in relatively good condition with just the one significant old break to the corner of one, which has resulted in a repair using the original piece which we have specifically included images of.
