An attractive late 19th century burr walnut baby Sutherland
table having superbly figured oval drop flaps to top
with inlaid decoration raised on elegant double turned
end supports
(The epitome of versatility baby Sutherland tables are one of our
best selling articles. Veneered in attractive burr walnut and
coffee table height, with both flaps raised these make a great
portable coffee table, which can have it’s flaps folded down and
be tucked away when not in use if required taking up effectively
no valuable space whatsoever.
The term “Sutherland Table” is believed to originate from the first full
size, non “baby” variants of these tables being named after The
Duchess Of Sutherland, Mistress Of The Robes To Queen Victoria)
