Regency 19th Century Burr Oak Centre Table (England, circa 1835)
Regency 19th Century Burr Oak Centre Table (England, circa 1835)
An Extremely Good Quality And Very Attractive Late Regency Period, 19th Century, Burr Oak Hall Centre Table, Having Excpetionally Well Figured Quarter Veneered Circular Tilting Top, With Wide Banded Decoration, Raised On Faceted Bulbous Central Column With Very Elegant & Richly Carved Tripod Legs Terminating On Scrolling Toes With Original Recessed Castors.
A quite beautiful table which boasts some really wonderfully figured burr oak veneers and superbly carved legs, it originates from the late regency, or possibly william iv period, and it is clear that it has been well loved and cherished throughout its life as it remains in very good condition overall as well as retaining a very good rich colour and surface.
It is also very sturdy, due to the quality of the timber used throughout and the overall construction. In fact it is surprising just how heavy it is when picking it up and moving it, which once again demonstrates the fantastic overall quality.
Perfect for a wide variety of different spaces around the home, or possibly even in a hotel or office lobby, this table has clearly been used as intended throughout its life, whilst also being very elegant and attractive indeed, which is a fact we don’t expect to change any time in the future.
As with all items which we offer for sale this centre table has been attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, trained, traditonal antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale. This has ensured it is in excellent condition and ready for immediate placement within the home.
