A very fine quality regency period mahogany whatnot
having ratcheted hinged top with removable book
rest over two further tiers united by elegant turned
supports and one frieze drawer with original turned
knobs raised on original turned lobed feet
Attributed to "Gillows Of Lancaster & London"
(A very similar example can be found in Susan Stuart’s
2008 book, "Gillows Of Lancaster & London" with almost
identical features and the overall quality of this present
example is absolutely consistent with what we would expect
to find from a piece of furniture produced in the workshops
of Gillows).

We have vans regularly on the road throughout mainland England and where practical and realistically possible are always pleased to offer prospective clients our approval service. Where possible we will not charge to bring the item/s out to you and place them in position in your home then take them away again should you choose not to purchase them. On some occasions there may be a nominal charge to cover the cost of our approval service, but this will always be discussed and explained to you in advance of our visit.
