Regency English 19th Century Rosewood Whatnot Etage

Regency English 19th Century Rosewood Whatnot Etage (England, circa 1830)

SOLD

A fine quality English regency period rosewood
Whatnot, or etage, having three well figured
Tiers united by elegant turned upright supports
With acorn finials and turned legs with
Original brass castors

(Many different forms of these relatively low
étagère and Whatnots can be found throughout
the 19th and early 20th centuries. This is a great
example of sweet size and incredibly elegant form.
The quality of construction is also excellent, much
better than the large majority we come across,
highlighted by the finely turned acorn finials and framed
construction of each tier. It is incredibly functional as it
is a useful size with three extremely sturdy tiers).
