SOLD

An exceptionally rare 18th century mahogany Chippendale period Lazy Susan having superbly figured rotating circular top retaining Rich color and patina raised on elegant tripod legs (By far the earliest example of a Lazy Susan that we have come across this is a most charming piece of 18th century craftsmanship. It is believed that the very first Lazy Susan was invented around the middle of the 18th century so this is almost certainly one of the first that would have been appearing and no doubt originally belonged to an extremely wealthy, upper class family. It is constructed from superb quality timber and retains a lovely rich color and patina, also showing superb craftsmanship in its construction.).
