A mid-19th century burr walnut miniature chest having well figured shaped top over four drawers retaining original turned wooden knobs flanked by canted corners raised on original plinth base (There is often a debate over whether miniature furniture was made as an apprentice piece, which is where somebody who is looking for a job in a workshop would create something to showcase their talents, or whether it was made as a travelling salesman sample piece, which is where a few articles were made as scale models in advance of a road trip on which the salesman would travel the country showing prospective clients the kind of items they could produce back at the workshop and take orders from.)

unsure whether it will sit right in that alcove, or whether or colour will work with that chest
of drawers already in place, then we may be able to help….
We have vans regularly on the road throughout mainland England and where practical and realistically possible are always pleased to offer prospective clients our approval service. Where possible we will not charge to bring the item/s out to you and place them in position in your home then take them away again should you choose not to purchase them. On some occasions there may be a nominal charge to cover the cost of our approval service, but this will always be discussed and explained to you in advance of our visit.
Please make it very clear when enquiring about an item, or items, if you intend to use the approval service as it must be agreed with us in advance of any further discussions re delivery timescales etc.
