English Regency Mahogany Oblong Pedestal Antique Lamp Table (England, circa 1820)
English Regency Mahogany Oblong Pedestal Antique Lamp Table (England, circa 1820)
A fine quality Regency Period mahogany lamp, or wine, table having superbly figured oblong top with attractive ebonized inlay decoration raised On elegant turned central column and quadform base with carved paw feet (This is a particularly fine quality and elegant Regency lamp table with almost every feature large, or small, being comfortable above the norm in terms of quality, craftsmanship and design. The top is superbly figured and retains an excellent color and patina which is in no small part due to the excellent choice of timbers. The column is elegantly shaped with superbly executed carved decoration in the middle of it. The plateau base and four carved paw feet are again of the highest quality and superbly executed. Overall the condition is good with just various old marks, dents and scuffs. There is however a significant warp to the top, which is noticeable, but is not so significant that it means the table cannot be used. It also of course adds great character to the piece. All in all a fabulous little table that would work beautifully in an absolute plethora of locations around the home and that one would almost certainly never tire of admiring.)
