Antique Pair Of Regency Gilt Pier Mirrors (England, circa 1830)
Antique Pair Of Regency Gilt Pier Mirrors (England, circa 1830)
A Very Attractive Regency Period Pair Of Rectangular
Giltwood Pier Mirrors Having Carved Decoration And
Replaced Mirror Plates Flanked By Half Turned Reeded
Columns
Provenance – Loxley Hall/Park, Staffordshire
(This impressive pair of mirrors are a really good bold
size without being so overpoweringly large that they
would be too big for most rooms. They are in fact almost
the perfect size for almost any house, new or old. Originally
made to be hung in the brick piers either side of grand
windows their condition is good and they would add light
and help create the illusion of open space to any room they
end up in now. They do of course come with a provenance of
originally being made for Loxley Hall, which is in Loxley Park,
Staffordshire and the ancestral home of the Sneyd-Kynnersley
family. The mirrors were purchased by a direct family descendant.)
