(This George I period armchair is as fit for purpose as the day it
was made. Perfect as a standalone chair, or to use at a desk it
is of generous proportions meaning it is a viable seating option
for a large cross section of people. Surprisingly comfortable it has
clearly been well loved and cherished throughout its life and retains
an excellent colour and patina. There are no structural defects of
any kind and that is unusual for a chair of approx 300 years old. The
upholstered seat is of drop in design meaning easy and economical
recovering should somebody wish to change the upholstery to suit a
pre existing colour scheme.)
