18th Century Georgian Mahogany Drum Type Occasional Table (England, circa 1790)
18th Century Georgian Mahogany Drum Type Occasional Table (England, circa 1790)
A delightful late 18th century George III period
mahogany circular drum type occasional lamp table
having leather inset to circular rotating top, the
four frieze drawers alternating with four false
drawers raised on elegant carved central column
and four splayed legs terminating with brass castors
(This charming table is beautiful quality and a most useful
unusual small size so could be used for a variety of
different purposes. It has has real elegance and class and
is very much a cut above most that you would see.. The maker has
chosen exceptionally well figured mahogany and the carved
detailing is exceptionally executed. It retains a good colour
and patina throughout and the leather is old and aged but
still in functioning condition and certainly doesn’t need replacing
and time soon).
